Kozara ETHNO 2008 (2009 SOON)
Manifestation „ 4th Kozara Ethno festival 2008“ is organized by KUD Piskavica and Touristic organization of city Banja Luka. It will be kept between 4th and 5th july 2008 in Piskavica (Community center) beneath Kozara, on the 6th in Laktasi and on the 7th july on summer stage of fort Kastel. Main objective of this happening is to show the ethno way of life in villages beneath Kozara, customs wich are today interesting as touristic attraction.
We will color the event with ehtno sound trough music and traditional dances performed by groups from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kozara and international guests. On the 4th ethno festival following ethno organizations will perform:
- „Javorje“ – Novo Mesto ethno group
- Cultural society „ Sonja Marinkovic“ – Novi Sad ; Serbia
- Cultural society „ Slavko Mandic“ – Laktasi ; Republic of Srpska
- Cultural society „ Drvar“ – Bosnia and Herzegovina
- Cultural Society ΛΥΚΕΙΟΝ ΤΩΝ ΕΛΛΗΝΙΔΩΝ – Patra from Greece
- 10 different ethno-singing groups from Kozara
- Cultural society „ Rarugos’n“- Strausbourg
- CS „Chorschach“ – Switzerland
- Music school „ Mokranjac“ – Belgrade
- DMBUC „ Ilija Nikolovski – Luj“ – Skoplje – Macedonia
- Singing group „ Sala Orska“ – Strpce with Svjetlana Stevic and music orchestra from Greece
- Group Toon en Tine (Moerbeke Waas - Belgia)
In this manifestation we will show the way of life in Kozara with actors and regular citizens who will be dreased in traditional clothing, they will be equiped with authentical traditional tools.
Main theme of this event will be „ traditional wedding customs in old Kozara“. We will organize a traditional wedding, exposition of bride’s and groom’s participants, also the market of home made products. All the participants of „competative part“ of the festival will have to present themselves with at least one wedding song.
Also in this manifestation we will organize a tournament in traditional sport disciplines, lectures in fields of countryside tourism and protection of nature. Winners of this festival with the international cultural societies will preform on the 6th of july on fort Kastel in Banja Luka.
Program of the manifestation :
4th of july
- Welcoming of the cultural societies from Greece, Serbia, Slovenija and BiH
- Selection of the most arranged yard
- „Ethno market“ – (home made artifacts, food and drink)
- Opening of the exposition „ wedding customs“ wich will last for two day’s under the mentorship and guidance of ethnologists. This exhibition is made of two part’s : general (every day lifehood of Kozara) and thematical (wedding customs and nuptials).
- 8:30 p.m. Opening of the manifestation
- Folklore watch : every cultural society will play two dances and between breaks the international guests will present themselves.
- Assigning of certificates to all cultural societies
- Traditional dinner by the end of folklore watch
- Continuance of further program
5th july
- Welcomening of groups from Italy, Serbia, Switzerland, France, Macedonia and the rest of Bosnia and Herzegovina
- Tour of Kozara and Banja Luka for participants of manifestation
- Welcoming of singing groups from Kozara
- The show of custom „wedding“ will be presented within the Ethno house in Piskavica and will be performed by the members of cultural society Piskavica and other participants of this manifestation who would show interest.
- Lectures on subjects „ development of countryside tourism“ and „ protection of nature“ will be held in elementary school „ Cyril and Methodi“ in Piskavica. Lectures will be led by experts in these regions.
- Traditional sport activities
- 8:30 p.m. –opening ceremony of the festival with 10 singing source groups from Bosnia and Herzegovina ( Podgraci, Dubica, Gradiska, Laktasi, Prijedor, Novi grad, Omarska, Piskavica and Verici). Vocal and instrumental performance will be graded by the 5 members of judging comision.

6 p.m. – 8 p.m. : Wedding defile with all participants of the festival trough Banja Luka wich will be held on the relation from National teather of RS to fort Kastel (around 500 meters trough city center).
8:30 p.m. – 11 p.m. performance on the summer stage on Kastel (winners of the manifestation and international guests)
