Kozara Ethno: Guardians of cultural heritage

Kozara Ethno is an authentic project dedicated to preserving, reviving, and promoting the rich cultural heritage of Kozara and Potkozarje. Born from the shared vision of the Banja Luka Tourist Organization and the KUD “Piskavica,” Kozara Ethno has become a key ambassador of regional culture and tradition since its inception in 2010.

Focused on supporting and enhancing rural tourism development, this project strives to raise awareness about the importance of preserving the region’s traditional values. Through diverse activities, Kozara Ethno passes on stories, crafts, music, games, and gastronomy of the area to new generations and visitors from other parts of the world.

With Kozara Ethno, every stone of Kozara and Potkozarje gains a voice—a voice that narrates centuries-old tales, a voice filled with love for the land, and a voice that connects the past, present, and future. Join us on this journey through time, get acquainted with the heritage that shaped our community, and be a part of our mission to preserve this unique cultural treasure.

Kozara Ethno Festival: Journey through heritage

Since 2005, the festival in the Potkozarje village of Piskavica and the city of Banja Luka has gathered more than 400 performers from different countries. With each new edition, the festival takes us on a journey through the life of the Kozara people and shows us how life used to be in Kozara and Potkozarje through the presentation of traditional customs, culture, and local cuisine.
