KOZARA ETHNO: PRESERVING THE TRADITION AND CULTURE OF KOZARA

Kozara Ethno: Guardians of cultural heritage

Kozara Ethno is an authentic project dedicated to preserving, reviving, and promoting the rich cultural heritage of Kozara and Potkozarje. Born from the shared vision of the Tourist Organization of Banja Luka and the Cultural Artistic Society ‘Piskavica,’ Kozara Ethno has been the key ambassador of regional culture and tradition since its inception in 2010.

With a focus on supporting and enhancing rural tourism development, this project strives to raise awareness about the importance of preserving the region’s traditional values. Through diverse activities, Kozara Ethno passes on the stories, crafts, music, dances, and gastronomy of this area to new generations and visitors from other regions.

Through Kozara Ethno, every stone of Kozara and Potkozarje gains a voice – a voice that tells centuries-old tales, a voice filled with love for the land, a voice that connects the past, present, and future. Join us on this journey through time, get to know the heritage that shaped our community, and be a part of our mission to preserve this unique cultural treasure.

Preserving Tradition through active engagement

The activities within the Kozara Ethno project encompass researching traditional culture, collecting a database on local culture, providing training to the local community in rural tourism, environmental and handicraft protection, as well as supporting entrepreneurship and marketing. The results of these activities are showcased through the annual Kozarski Ethno Festival.

Achieving goals through sustainability, culture, and entrepreneurship

Entrepreneurship enhancement

Through training in rural tourism, environmental protection, and handicrafts, we work on enhancing the entrepreneurial skills of the local community, with the aim of supporting sustainable economic development.
