KOZARA ETHNO: PRESERVING THE TRADITION AND CULTURE OF KOZARA
Kozara Ethno: Guardians of cultural heritage
Kozara Ethno is an authentic project dedicated to preserving, reviving, and promoting the rich cultural heritage of Kozara and Potkozarje. Born from the shared vision of the Tourist Organization of Banja Luka and the Cultural Artistic Society ‘Piskavica,’ Kozara Ethno has been the key ambassador of regional culture and tradition since its inception in 2010.
With a focus on supporting and enhancing rural tourism development, this project strives to raise awareness about the importance of preserving the region’s traditional values. Through diverse activities, Kozara Ethno passes on the stories, crafts, music, dances, and gastronomy of this area to new generations and visitors from other regions.
Through Kozara Ethno, every stone of Kozara and Potkozarje gains a voice – a voice that tells centuries-old tales, a voice filled with love for the land, a voice that connects the past, present, and future. Join us on this journey through time, get to know the heritage that shaped our community, and be a part of our mission to preserve this unique cultural treasure.
Our vision and mission: Life through culture and tradition
Our mission and vision lie in connecting the past and the present, highlighting the significance and beauty of the rich culture and tradition of Kozara and Potkozarje.
Preserving Tradition through active engagement
The activities within the Kozara Ethno project encompass researching traditional culture, collecting a database on local culture, providing training to the local community in rural tourism, environmental and handicraft protection, as well as supporting entrepreneurship and marketing. The results of these activities are showcased through the annual Kozarski Ethno Festival.
Achieving goals through sustainability, culture, and entrepreneurship
The Kozara Ethno project aims to achieve ambitious goals through sustainable tourism development, protection, and promotion of cultural values, and enhancing the entrepreneurial capacities of the local community. We pursue these efforts through three key approaches:
